CZDS was selected by Stumptown Roasters to redesign the open office space at their SE Portland headquarters building, originally fully renovated in 2012. Outgrowing their office space within 3 years prompted our team to look for workspace solutions that could easily adapt as they continued to change and grow, to provide some type of acoustical privacy between workspaces as the footprints continued to shrink to accommodate increasing power and data needs, and to integrate their existing furniture components while accommodating new pieces including height adjustable work surfaces.
In addition to increasing the quantity of workstations, Stumptown also required additional meeting space that could accommodate 206 people. Both furniture and built solutions that could easily morph as size and privacy needs changed were proposed. Our team was responsible for developing the tenant improvement construction set, including both office and roasting facility upgrades, along with permitting the project through the City of Portland. Additional acoustical and lighting upgrades are planned for a second phase.
