Czopek Design Studio provided furniture procurement services for Ride Connection, a non-profit organization providing transportation options primarily for older adults and people with disabilities. Their new 16,000 sf office space is located on the ground floor of Glisan Commons (in the burgeoning Gateway neighborhood) which provides affordable housing for people just entering the workforce and senior citizens.
CZDS worked closely with the Client to outline furniture goals and requirements for their new office and meeting spaces. The organization was committed to scaling down their current workstation sizes without compromising workspace quality. As a result, CZDS developed 5 workstation layout types that each of the 80+ occupants could choose from to meet their individual needs while meeting the 6’x7′ footprint and keeping furniture components to a minimum.
In addition to the furniture layout and selection, CZDS developed an open-bid furniture specification that met stringent funding requirements including ensuring that all furniture was Buy America Act compliant (made in America).
