Home Forward selected Czopek Design Studio to lead the effort in developing a comprehensive feasibility report that evaluated the structural, mechanical, and spatial integrity of their 50,000 sf historic landmark building in downtown Portland. Optional directions were proposed which examined varying degrees of renovation and building upgrades in order to better support agency operations for the next 12 to 20 years. The assembled team included structural, mechanical & electrical engineers, code consultant, architectural consultant and construction consultant.
Detailed plan options were prepared that addressed key Client goals for a highly flexible and accessible office environment. Color coded bubble diagrams were used to illustrate how each option approached the goals differently, and the pros and cons of each approach were summarized in detail. These plans were the basis of a thorough pricing set that included sustainable finishes and energy conservation measures as its benchmark.
Home Forward has started moving forward with building alterations based on recommendations from the report.
