City of Portland 2013 Space Evaluation Study

Portland, OR

To support informed decision-making as well as better overall utilization and allocation of office workspace, this 2013 report was compiled showing the results of the most recent review of 620,000 sf of City of Portland-owned office space including The Portland Building, City Hall and the 1900 Building, and 91,000 sf of office space leased from private owners and other government partners.

Presented to the Portland City Council in early 2013, this report with its 4 optional approaches to future facilities and space needs allocation aided in the approval of a framework for long range planning. Our firm assisted the city in defining Space Guidelines, Furniture Guidelines, Workspace Standards and methods of looking at new workplace efficiencies. Space Utilization planning studies for each of the major office buildings resulted in Space Planning Guidelines for implementation of more efficient strategies.
